Dr. Robert Booker is Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer at Centrica, one of Britain's leading energy companies. As a member of Centrica's executive committee, he is responsible for the group's long-term strategy and enterprise-wide transformation, and also leads Centrica's innovation and data science functions — sitting at the centre of decisions on how technology, capital, and people combine to shape the company's future.

His career has focused on bringing new technology to bear on industry's most confounding problems — from playing a pivotal role in bringing X-energy's advanced nuclear technology to the UK, to driving the adoption of AI and data-driven capability across a complex, customer-facing organisation. An academic as well as a practitioner, he has taught data science to doctoral students, bringing both technical depth and commercial rigour to the question at the heart of this discussion: how British enterprise moves beyond AI experimentation to tangible, lasting economic impact.
